Hail Damage?
Saturday was a reminder of how fast things can change out here.
We had been watching the weather all day. Alerts were calling for a high-risk system across our area. A pop-up storm lit up the radar. Heavy lightning. More warnings. Hail anywhere from pea-sized to ping pong balls.
We need the rain. Badly.
But hail is a different story.
Matt was at the house. I was at the shop. The radar showed it coming straight for us, so he headed a few miles west with one truck to try to miss it.
I was not in the path. Until I was.
Within 20 minutes, the storm shifted. I packed up, drove 15 minutes west, and waited it out.
The house only has a small crack in the siding. The large solar charger (that we were concerned would be damaged) and animals are fine, just wet.
A few miles south, friends were not as fortunate. Cars totaled. Windows knocked out.
Same storm. Very different outcomes.
That is life out here.
